We got to build this beautiful deck overlooking the lake in Dandridge for a family that recently moved to the area from Michigan. They are looking forward to their summers on the lake and wanted a space that would allow them to spend as much time outside as possible. It was also important to them that the railing not obstruct their views. And they wanted the view from the lake towards the house to be just as pretty, so we wrapped all the exposed pressure treated framing materials with Trex facia. The results came out great and they are now ready for the warm weather!
We used a cable railing system made by CityPost and Trex Transcend Island Mist composite decking and facia. Discover our expert deck building services for your next project.
Below are some of the progress pictures from this project. You’ll notice some unwrapped posts at the back of the deck. There was a small existing deck in place that we had to start out by removing. When the builder built this house, they decided it would be prudent to use non-pressure treated lumber for the deck. The posts were pressure treated but everything else was your standard interior white wood. We removed all the existing white wood framing and started fresh with new pressure treated lumber, but we did save the posts to save the client a little money.
