This little project started with a steep and dangerous slope and a family in Knoxville, TN that wanted some usable front yard for their young children to play in. We moved a lot of dirt, terraced the slope, added drainage swales and riprap to divert the water and catch basins and drain pipe to move the water from the slope to the other side of the driveway. We compacted the slopes and finished with sod for lawn/play areas and seed, fertilizer and straw mat to hold the slopes in place while the plugs come in.
